REGISTRATION

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants interested in participating in the admission process for on-campus undergraduate programs in the municipality of Saravena (Arauca) must meet the following requirements:

  1. Hold a high school diploma or be currently enrolled in the eleventh grade.

  2. Have taken the Saber 11° State Exam (valid for 5 years).

  3. Certify a minimum score of thirty-one (31) points in each of the areas that make up the Exam, namely: Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social and Citizenship Studies, Natural Sciences, and English.

Note 1: For applicants exempted from the English test, according to Article No. 1 of Decree 34 of 1980 issued by the Ministry of National Education, only the scores in Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social and Citizenship Studies, and Natural Sciences will be considered.

Registration will be disqualified for applicants who:

  • Are currently enrolled in any undergraduate program at UIS.
  • Have an active disciplinary sanction at UIS.
  • Apply for the same undergraduate program from which they were excluded due to poor academic performance or failure to renew enrollment in that program.
  • Are enrolled in two undergraduate programs at UIS.

Note 2: If admitted, the student who obtained a high school diploma abroad, or its equivalent, must present the validation of the degree before the Ministry of National Education.

Note 3: The use of any type of fraudulent means in the admission process disqualifies the applicant for a period of five (5) years from enrolling in any academic program of the University, without prejudice to any criminal sanctions that may apply. (Superior Council Agreement No. 017/95)

Important: A student who has been enrolled in an academic program at any UIS campus and is under any of the following circumstances—poor academic performance (P.F.U.), failure to renew enrollment within the deadlines established by UIS regulations, or semester cancellation—may only apply for another academic program at the main campus in Bucaramanga, following the admission process established by current regulations. (Academic Council Agreement No. 201 of September 2009)
