Registration
Requirements
The person interested in participating in the admission process to the undergraduate programs at the regional offices must meet the following requirements:
Have a bachelor’s degree or be in the eleventh grade.
To have taken the Saber 11º State Exam (valid for 5 years).
Certify a minimum score of (thirty-one) 31 points in each of the areas that make up the exam, i.e.: Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social and Citizenship, Natural Sciences and English.
Note 1: For applicants exempted from the English test, according to Article No. 1 of Decree 34 of 1980 of the Ministry of National Education, only the scores in Mathematics, Critical Reading, Social and Citizenship, and Natural Sciences will be taken into account.
Enrollment will be disqualified for those who:
Is currently enrolled in any undergraduate program at UIS.
Has a disciplinary sanction in force at the UIS.
Applicant to the same undergraduate program from which he/she was excluded for poor academic performance or has not renewed enrollment in that program.
Has enrolled in two undergraduate programs at the UIS.
Note 2: In case of admission, students who obtained their bachelor’s degree abroad or its equivalent, must present the validation of the degree to the Ministry of Education.
Note 3: The use of fraudulent means of any kind in the admission process disqualifies the student for the term of 5 years to enroll in any academic program of the University, without prejudice to any criminal penalties that may apply (Agreement No. 017/95 of the Superior Council).
Important: The student who has enrolled in an academic program at any of the UIS campuses, and is immersed in some of the following circumstances: Low academic performance (P.F.U), non-renewal of enrollment within the deadlines set by the regulations of the UIS, or cancellation of the semester, may only apply to another academic program at the main campus of Bucaramanga, undergoing the admission process under the current regulations (Agreement of the Academic Council No. 201 of September 2009).

Criteria
To select the students of the academic programs that begin the studies in the regional headquarters and then are transferred to the main headquarters of Bucaramanga, it will be taken into account, as admission criteria, only the academic merit measured in terms of the average obtained in the introductory level to the university studies completed at the UIS.
Additional criteria
In case of a tie on the cutoff line, the following criteria will be applied in strict order:
- Qualification of the subject of Mathematics, taken at the introductory level.
- Qualification of the subject of Physics, taken at the introductory level.
- Qualification of the subject of Chemistry, taken at the introductory level.
In the event of a tie between candidates whose age allows them to exercise the right to vote, the quota will be allocated to the candidate who has exercised that right in the votes immediately preceding the date of registration for the admission procedure, by the provisions of paragraph I of article 2 of law 403 of August 27, 1997, which establishes incentives for voters. If one of the candidates is not of voting age, this criterion will be disregarded.
The quota will be awarded in the order of registration generated by the system, according to the number of consecutive assigned for that purpose.
Remember that you can register for the admission process only for the Headquarters in which you have completed and passed the introductory level.
